INTER-CLUB BOWLING FIXTURE'S

The following dates for inter-club matches have been arranged by the executive of the New Zealand Bowling Association: —

Koveniber 26.— Caledonian v. Taieri, Green Island v. Port Chalmers, St. Clair v. Kaituna, Roslyn v. Dunedin.

December 10. — Caledonian v. Green Island, St. Ciadr v. Outram, Port Chalmers v. Ros'yn, Kaituna v. Dunedin.

January 7. — Caledonian v. Port Chalmers, Taieri v. Kaituna, Ou-tram v. RosJyn, St. Clair v. Dunedin. January 28. — Caledonian v. St. Clair, Taieri v. Roslyn, Green Island v. Kaituna, Outram v. Dunedin.

February 11.— RosJyn v. Caledonian, Taieri v. Dunedin, Green Island v. Outram, Port Chalmers v. Kaituna.

February 25. — Caledonian v. Dunedin, Taieri v. Green Island, Port Chalmers v. St. Clair, Kaituna v. Outram.

March 11. — Kaituna v. Caledonian, Taieri v. Port Chalmers, Green Island v. Dunedin, St. Clair v. Roslyn.

No place for the matches has been fixed, but as far as possible clubs drawn togetiher arrange mutually to play on both greens the same day. For instance, clubs playing against each other and both having, say, an eight-rink green, should play four rinks aside on each greeu. This will allow the other half of their greens to be used by players not taking part in the match.. Clubs having smaller greens to reduce accordingly

As far as possible clubs are to ascertain at once what members of their clubs wish to take part in inter-club matches ; a list of same to be drawn up, and every bowler takes his turn.

As regards adjacent country clubs — viz., Balclutha, Clinton, Kaitangata, Lawrence, Milton, Palmerston, Stirling — it has been impossible to arrange matches, owing to the difficulty in fixing convenient dates, etc., but the executive suggests that the town clubs arrange to play at least one match with a country club during the season, giving preference to those which have not played.

It will be seen that the two new clubs — North-East Valley and St. Kilda— are not in the programme, but the executive desires other clubs to make arrangements for playing them as soon as their greens are in order. The secretary of the JST.Z.B.A. is to be advised promptly of the result of all matches.
