The ordinary meeting held on Thursday, October 27. was attended by the commissioner GSx J. Hay), and Messrs A. Kinross, D. Kijig, Jno. M'Lean, and" Jno. M'lntyre. The Commissioner informed the board that in consequence of the Order-in-Council altering the boundaries of the Otago and South- f land land districts, about 600.000 acres had been added to the latter —Received. It was decided that the land b3 divided into sections of suitable area for settlement, etc. The Deputy Official Assignee (Mr C. Rout) disclaimed section 81, block 111, Mataura Hundred. Edendale settlement, formerly held by W. Lambert.a bankrupt.— Accepted, secti on to be again advertised as open to selection, Lambert to be allowed to remove any timber belonging to him, or building in course of erection by him. It wa« decided that section 4a, block I, South Wakatipu, SrD., be re-advertised, with valuation for improvements reduced to £3. Messrs Hall, Stoat and Lillicrap, on beha.f of John Kynaston, claimed inquiry or explanation with regard to the valuation for improvements on section 15, Merrivale, before selection by him and after forfeiture, hs having paid £36 3s for improvements, and spent, in addition. £11 10s, but »was only allowed £29 18s 5d on forfeiture.— Resolved, on the motion of Mr King, seconded by Mr M'lntyre, that if Mr Kynaston will attend next meeting, he will be given any explanation he may require. The offer by Timpany Bros, of £9 lls 3d ! for sawmil.ing timber on sections 40, 41, 49 and 50, block 111, Seaward Bush township^ ' was accepted, subject to the timber being ■ cut off in Three months, sections to be tem° J povarily withdrawn from selection. Moffett Bros, were granted sawmill site of 10 acres on section 14, block XI, Waikawa S.D. (south-east corner), for a term of seven years at £1 per annum. ■ The Commissioner suggested that the un- ■ surveyed portion of Lowther Township (about : 122 acres) be surveyed into not more than , two sections, that the remaining unsold sections be grouped and all unnecessary i streets closed, so that after survey the land could be comprehensively dealt with. — Suggestions approved. 1 J. In the second last , instance, two years', and the last three years' j exemption was grantad, it being scrub land. ,

Mrs E. Concannon was allowed to _su&* stitute section 5, block IX, Lindhurst Hundred, for section 23 block X, which contained a large area than she could hold. The following transfers were approved: — ' Sections 14 and 19 and 20, block 111, Alton, J. H. Coughlan to Jas. King : 29, block VI, Otara, Jas. Regefsky to Mrs M. A. Peterson; section 2, block IIT Seaward Kush Township, Mrs Rose Young- to N. A. Woods; 75, block I, Wendon, R. H. and P. V. G-arvey to Mrs Isabella M'Kenzie ; and reserve. East Dipton Township, Robert Ballantyne to Mrs E Ballantyne. An area was forfeited owing to the nonpayment of rates, and similar action was t?ken in nine other cases on accottnt of arrears of rent.
