The weekly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held on "Wednesday, there being present— Mr D. Barron (Coininissioiier of , Crown Lands), Messrs Clark, Duncan, Dallas, 1 and Kivkpatrick. ( Ranger Atkinson reported that Mary Ritchie, : lessee of section 64, block VIII, Makareao Estate, was not complying with the- conditions of her lease in regard to the cutting of hedges. -—To show cause why her /lease should "not be forfeited for non-compliance with conditions. Eleven residents at Gimmerburn wrote with reference to the areas held under license — sections 4, 17. and 18. block I, Gimmerburn district — by Charles Docherty. — As the land referred to was now- held under occupation lease the board had -no power to deal with the matter. The last of the winter series of band socials at Cromwell, in aid of the uniform fund, was held on Wednesday evening, about 50 couples being present. The floor "was in good order for dancing, and the supper, supplied by the ladies, was excellent in quality and ample in quantity.
