ay, and that

' to be a member of the club for the year en- | suing, and should be liable for the year's subI scription Speaking to the motion, he said 1 this was necessary as they wanted to know when anyone ceased to be a member, and if. carried members would know when their membership ceased. — Mr Short seconded the motion. j — Mr Johnstone asked if it would not be better ! ii the time for membership ceased at the enc{ of September, as they began electing members in October. — Mr Peake said the objection to that was that members elected as from the beginning of October would be members in June, when the annual meeting was held, and would have the privilege of voting at that; meeting. — The motion was carried. The President moved that Mr James Hislop be elected a life member of the cub. and. m doing so, referred to the good service Mr Hislop had done for the club. He had been elected president three or four times, and it would only be a graceful act on the part of the members now that he had left Dunedin and settled in Wellington to elect him a jife member. It was with pleasure lie moved the lesolution. — Mr Gillies, in seconding tha motion, said no one had done more for the Dunedin Club and for bowling generally than Mr Hislop. — The motion was carried unanimously amid applause.

It was resolved that the club at once proceed to re-register the club colours.

Mr Short introduced the subject of limiting the club membership, pointing out that there were times when the green was st> fully occupied that members could not take part in the game. — The Chairman thought the matter required notice oi motion. — Mr Gillies suggested that it was advisable to find out the state of the finances of the club before what Mr Short suggested could be done. — The subject then dropped, and the meeting terminated.
