ASSASSINATION OF GENERAL BOBRIKOFF.

Ex-Senator Schanntmn's sou and a Government official thrice fired at and wounded General Eobrikoff, Governor of Finland, in tho abdomen, chest, and neck inside the precincts of the Senate. The assassin committed suicide. Bobrikoff is dying. General Bobrikoff, Governor of Finland, who was rhrice fired at by a son of ex-Senator Schaumann, is dead.
There is great excitement in St. Petersburg over the tragedy, as the late Governor was the representative of M. Pobiedonostzeff's repressive system.

General Tcherlkoff, Governor of Warsaw, hearing of General Bobrikon's fate, was seized with paralysis.
General Bobrikoff recently privately admitted that concessions- were necessary, but inadvisable. He blamed Swedish, and even British, influence over the younger Finns accounting for the widespread disaffection, though he declared' satisfaction that the Senate consented to the old Finn parly.
An operation was performed on General Bobribcff at the hospital, lasting 40 minutes. The bullet, which was of an explosive character, caused tei'rible injuries. Schaumann belonged to the Swedish party, comprising 300,000, chiefly of the higher class.
