LONDON. June 15
It is estimated that 8000 warriors occupy the villages at the foot of the mona&tery opposing the British at Gyangtse,°obliging the mission to act on the defensive tmtil reinforcements arrive. The fort is 300 ft above the plain and very strong. It is armed with 27 jingals. Many of* the Thibetans have rifles.
BOMBAY, June 10. A force of Ghourkas captured a Thibetan convoy, killing nine. The Dalai Lama is prepared to flee into China.
