VICTORIA COLLEGE COLLEGE.
WELLINGTON, June 15. At a meeting of tho Victoria College. Council this evening the following rnotiom was passed: — "That, considering the Email funds available for university education in. New Zealand, this council is of opinion, that there should be specialisation in universii.y work by colleges, and would urge the Auckland College Council to invite representatives of various oolleges to meet and! seo whether any agreement could be arrived at as to specialising work." A statement giving a forecast of tho financial position of the college up to March 31, 1807, was presented by tho treasurer. Thi3 showed that the total deficiency for three years would amount to £4815 16s Id, as follows:— 1905: Receipts, £3957 11s; expenditure, £6021 14s 4d; deficiency, £2064 3s 4d 1906: Receipts, £5190; expenditure, £7005 12s 9d; deficiency £1815 12s 9d. 1907: Receipts, £5160; expenditure, £6090; deficiency, £936. In the course of the dis-cus-sion it was stated that the council has on deposit £4000. No action was taken ia the matter.
