SOUTH CANETERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.

The following is a, copy of the report of the B.C.J.C. presented by the president at the annual meeting of the club, which was held on Thursday last: — " It gives me great pleasure in handing you tie annual report and balance s»heet, made up to May 31, to be again able to congratulate jnembers. Both meetings showed a profit, Itiie net profit for the year being £151. • During tho fast year your committee's energies have been especially directed towards giving the public greater facilities and comfort, jmd the result of its policy has been the very Excellent result shown in the balance sheet. i The requirements of trainers have been met !by the formation of a grass and plough track ' inside the course j>roper, and a well has been jsunk close to the horse- yards. ,' T?ie club's assets consist of grand stand, iotalisator machine, and other buildings, and -*hese have during the year been thoroughly repaired, painted, and otherwise improved, and ttogether with all racing anil other appliances *re absolutely clear of debt. < Your committee hag accepted a tender for • caretaker's house, the total cost of which may be estimated at £300. j Hia Excellency the Governor attended our eecond day's meeting, and expressed himself as pleased with the course and the racing and the conduct of it. i The following members of committee retire, IfcwS «re eligible and offer themselves for rs"eiection — viz..
