By FaiTZ.

Tn my note 3 last week I wrote, "But I regret that Sir George Clifford, with his strong team, has not entered one. I believe that he v.-as asked to at least nominate Treadmill, who, wr know, can stay, as he won the Canterbury Cup, but he declined." Since the above was written I hav^ been informed that Sir George was not requested to nominate Treadmill, and that he woiud not enter a horse likely lo be backed, inasmuch as he might not stand the necessary preparation. 1 also learn that Sir George declined to enter any. other member of his team, simply on the ground that he did not consider he would be suitably represented.
