HAWKE'S BAY.
A fierce gale was experienced at Morere Dn the Ist. which blew down the hotel chimneys and carried away the veramdah, portion of which smashed into the dining room of tho hotel. A workman on the road had a narrow escape through a tree falling on his hut.
