The ordinary meeting held on Thursday, June 0, was attended by the Commissioner j (Mr J. Hay) and Messrs A. Kinross, J. M'lnI tyre, D. King, and John M'Lean. j The Under- Secretary notified that the money ! deposit in respect of the unsurveyed lands in j the Waiau district recently opened to selection would not be required, but the half-year's rent must be paid. — Received. It was decided to recommend the Government to leserve sections 1 to 4, block I, town of Otara, as an addition to the school site. Mrs J. Davaney applied to purchase sections 4 and 5, block VIII, Wrey's Bush township, and asked that the price be reduced from • £10 to £0 per acre. — Request for reduction dej chned. E. Earle applied to purchase 500 acres adjoining section 1, block VI, Lillburn, at 6s 3d per acre, stating that the area was necessary lo him for growth of winter feed for his stock. — Minister to be recommended to approve application. It was decided to reserve from sale section • 22, block 11, Wsikawa. Mr Foulds to bs asked j to make an offer for grazing rights over sections 17 and 22. P. Conway was granted grazing license ovei sections 15 and 16, block fX, Waikawa, at 25s per annual. The application of V. Almao for sections 19 and 20, block X, New River Hundred, was not entertained. C. J. Evans anplied for grazing license over section 25, block* 11, Longwood.— Commissioner j and Mr Kinross to report. It was decidod to offer flux on pait of pastoral Run 424 to B. Challis at £I=s. I R. Dobbie was peixnittecl to tuke in his biother as partner in section 120, Edendale. A similar request from H. Marshall in respect to section 27, Edendale, was also granted, his sou being entered as partner.

The following applications were granted' — A. Currie, sections 50 and 52 to 56, block 11, Waikawa; R. Winning, section 59, block XV, Invercargill ; William Curran, sections 62 to 6 1, block XV, Invercargill (four applications) ; Ivlichael Hogan, section 6, block X, Makarewa township; E. Prendergasl, sections 34 and 57, block 111, Seawaid Bush; A. 8., N. J., and 8. W. Moffett, seo.ion 4, block XI, Waikawa; V. Almao, section Ib, block IV, New River. The leases of the Edendale sections nameii were granted as follows: — John Dawson, section 76 (ezemption from residence granted, his intention being to build on section 77) ; Ehoda Dawson, section 77, block III; William Aberdeen, section 51, block III ; John Byers, section 14, block IX; and Robert Dent, section 33, bock X. Transfers were granted as follows: —Section ]12, block XX, Invercargill, Clara J. Denton to H. A. A. Denton; section 24, block IX, Waikawa, Charles Harvey to Henry Harvey; pastoral Run 352b, Eyre district, James Douglas to T. L. Barnhill, Joqe^.i Stock, *ncl Anne Rogers; pastoral Run 5, Eyre North, James M'Lean to A. W. and A. H. M'Lean; island in Mataura River opposite section 7, Mataura Hundred, Johnston'Wylie to Elizabath Milligan; pastoral Run 433b, Waikaia, D. Gillanders to R. S. Black. r The transfer of section IS, block I, Longwood, from Robert M'iiride to Mrs Charles Brownridge was refused, as the proposed transferee, who was in attendance, could not reside on the area. Change of tenure from perpetual lease to lease in perpetuity of the following areas situated in Wendonside was granted: — 10 and 11, block VII ; section 4, block VIII ; and section 111, block I. The Commissioner reported that there was no bid for pastoral Runs 324 a and 324b, Mavora aaid Eyre districts, offered at auction on the Bth inst., and it was decided to open the runs to applica'ion after 30 days' notice. Daniel Torpey was permitted to sublet one acre of section 10, block VIII, Waiau, to Mrs Morrison, jun. The Receiver was authorised to pay over to the Wallace County Council £217 * 13s lid, thirds and femrths acrued.

The man Mahey, who fell off a drayload of sacks at Pahiatua on the 4-th inst., and suSered injury to his spine, died on the Bth in st. About a month ago he had insured his life for £bOO. The usual monthly meeting of the committee of the Victoria Jubilee Convalescent Fund was held in the Town Hall on Friday.
