CROMWELL.
Our Cromwell correspondent writes that a ' social gathering in connection with the Anglican Church was held in the Athenaßum Hall on Thursday evening, 28th ult. The hall ' was comfortably filled, capital music being supplied by Messrs Belts and Partridge, apd abundant refreshments by the ladies of the congregation. Vocal contributions were given by Mrs Morris, Mesdames J. Richards and Morris, and Mr Mo3e".y. Miss Jeffreys (Clyde) played the ( accompaniments, and a piano solo was played • by Mr Travers. Dancing was afterwards in- ; dulged in till after midnight, Mr D. C. Jolly ! undertaking the dutie3 of M.C. An apology was made for the absence of the Rev. Mr. Fitchett, who was unavoidably detained at Roxburgh.
