DUNEDIN TEAMS IN CHRISTCHURCH.
CHRISTCHURCH, April 2.
The Easter football matches played to-day were chiefly notioe-a-bLe for the* want of condition apparent amongst the- playci's.
Limvood beat Union (Bun&din) by two tries to nil. The> union lacked combination and made a poor showing against the loos© rushes of the home team's forwards.
Merivale scored 3 points (a penalty goal) to 4- (a goal from a mark) in their contest with the Alhambra (Dunedin). The visitors' back play <wa& very creditable, the passing of M'Kay and Johnston bsiug specially good. The forwards on both sides played up well, and the gam© was fast, loose rushes just escaping scores for both sides on several occasions. The Albion v. Southern (Dunedin) match was very keenly contested, the homo team finally winning' by a try to nil. The* visitors were superior in the pack, but lost ground by trying too much back play. The defence on both sides was soitnd.
