TRANSPORT DIFFICULTIES.
LONDON, March 22.
Three thousand four hundred yaks out of 4000 collected for transport purposes in connection with the Thibetan mission died of fatigue and exposure.
A landslip occurred at Yatung, at the head of the Chumbi Valley, and killed three, besides seriously injuring four members of the escort party.
The districts of Nepaul and Clmmbi are afflicted with anthrax, pleuro-pneu-monia, and foot and mouth disease, so that the transport animals have been almost wiped v out.
March 28.
Colonel Younghusband's Thibetan expedition, comprising over 1000 riflemen, four guns, and two Maxims, is marching from Fort Phari to Gyangtse.
