SOUTHLAND.
The Longburn correspondent of the Southland.Times states that on Friday afternoon a stable, cart-shed, and byre belonging to Mr Charles Hughes, Longbush, were mimed to the ground. Mrs Hughes, who was first on the spot, succeeded, with the assistance of a lad, in saving a buggy and a litter of pigs. There is, it is understood, a small insurance, but Mr Hughes will be a loser.
