The nohoo of motion cf the Rev. Mr Ohisholm to the effect thct members ah:eut should apologise onrl ovplain their absence, and that of Mr R. Chisholm that members sliould be notified by pottcard of the date of me-atinga, were allowed to stand ovor until the ne^xt meeting.

The management of the Middleirpreh Church asked to be allowed to erect a vc=try or room. — It was agreed to send the application to th* Synod, with the recommendation that it be granted, provided that expert opinion is in favdu* of it. Sliddlsmarch also asked for a grant to erect additional joomi to the manse. The application was recommended 1o tho Synod, provided that a committee appointed approved of clis plans.

East Taieri applied for a grant of £50 in order to renovate tho interior of the church. — Tho application was referred to a committee- to inspect and report. The Rev. Mr Hewitson moved, and it was carried — " That the Presbytery put on record its gratitude to God for the great v. ork done by the British and Foreign BibleSociety in the translation and circulation of the Scriptures during the first century of the society's existence, commend the work of th& society to the liberality of our oon-

pregat'ons. and sugge-st to ministc-rs that they should preach on the Bible and Bible work on March 6."

On the motion of the Rev. Mr Hevritson, a committee v/as appointed to consider matters affecting the mission interests of the CJ-urch.
