The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), Gore, have to report as follows:— On Saturday last we offered at public auction part of section 11, block 1, Waikaia, containing 42 acres 1 rood^2s polcSj

on account of the executors of the late John Klukofsky. The section was knocked down to Mr Michael Leitze at £5 10s per acre, and as it adjoins Mr Leitze' s present farm it will prove a valuable addition to his holding, and the land has a good seam of coal on it. Messrs James Samson and Co. report having sold by auction yesterday all that parcel of land, situated in the Sawyers' Bay district, being part of section 12 on the plan of said, district, containing 77.2 poles (on account of the Public Trustee and Mr J. D. Warden), to Mr F. A. Platts, solicitor, Port Chalmers (as agent), for £122. The property was keenly competed for, and the bidding was started at £40. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report having sold to Mr John Aoernethy, of Central Otago, section 17, Castlerock Estate, containing 302 acres, at the price of £3 10s per acre. This section is fenced ancll divided into two paddocks; it is all good agricultural land, and has all been cultivated. It will make a very nice farm. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report having sold, at a satisfactory price, to Mr James Butler, of BaKour, on account of the New Zealand Agricultural Company (Limited), section 540, Hokonui Survey District, containing 313 acres, and forming part of the Waimea Estate. This is a fine piece of river flat land on the banks of the Mataura River. It is dry, warm, rich soil, and all first-class wheat land. Messrs Sievwright Bros, end Co. held a sale of property at their rooms on Saturday. Section 40, block 11, Otago Peninsula district, containing 36 acres 2 roods 12 poles, together with a sixroomed dwelling and outhouses, was passed in at £24 an acre.
