CHOIR OF WHISTLERS.

The Rev. P. Pilberback, of Millville, New Jersey, has introduced a choir of 30 young whistlers into his church. On their first appearance the boys in the gallery and several of the congregation joined in. The discord was so painful that many ladies left the church.

A , skeleton of this creature, which is 6Of t long, is to be given by Mr Oatnegie to the Natural History Museum. The Diplodocus is very similar to the Cetiosaurus Leedsi, the' tail and hind-leg bones of wlhich have lately 'been, acquired by the Museum. It was a vegetable -feeder and amphibious, and never came entirely out of water on account of its size and weight, which -was so enormous that it could not support itself without the help of waiter. It was discovered by Mr Hatcher in Wyoming. It is a little difficult for the ordinary person to eali?e from a skeleton what these uncouth creatures were lil'e. To help the imagination the artist has skilfully clothed this specimen witfh flesh "with the assistance of scientific experts. — "The Graphic."

In the foreground is seen the pet dog which scratched the spot where Miss Holland's body was found. Mr John Mynott, of New Plymouth, who kindly sends us the photo, writes: — "I know the old farmhouse well. My old dominie and his son once owned it. Situated in rather a lonely spot, about a mile from Clareing and same distance from Rackling, two small villages about three and four miles ifrom the Great Eastern Railway, end forty from London. Letters from the old village of Clavering state that thousands of persons from all parts of Great Britain have visited the place where the murder was committed, and for which Dougal has paid the penalty. Clavering has again become noted owing to this horrible crime havin? been perpetrated, as it was some fifty years ago, when a woman named Sally Chesham poisoned her husband and some of her family.
