It v.ts resolved that the amount be subsidised up to £10 for that purpose.
A ocncprt uiuler the p.uspiecs of the Evptgreen Lodge, 1.0. G.T., was held m the Voluntcr HnH, Green Island, on Friday night. Tl'o hall vrs fairy well filled, and the audience appreciated ihe quality of the perfom:n.nce, which was of an excellent cliaracter. Son^s wore rendered by Mr Si'ibb*, Hiss E. Easton, Z£r Gco. Meek (comip), Air Barton. Miss C. Owens (so'.o), Mr Overtcn (character), a-nd Mr Olssn. A hnmorcus sonsfgivsn by ilr Anthony was loudly applauded, and Me W. Mills contributed a recitation in good et\ Ic. Professor Shearsby followed with scne graphopliono selections, which highly pleased the audience. Mr Mills ga^e a recitation, ar.d Miss Riddle contributed a. solo, as s'so did Mr Cook. A farce, " The Haunted G/Ilce," by Messrs Overtoil, Ana-cotnbe, and Hicks concluded the evening's entertainment. Miss L. Jcfi3 played the Eccomppii'mcnts. m A lecture entitled " The Rise a.nd Pregr?ss of Prrmtive Methodism" was given on Friany rii'glit in the A^botsford Primitive M-c-thodi't Church by the Res. Mt ShaTD m the pr:se".cG of an attentive ard appreciative audience. A number of lantern views lllustraiirg mission york in O-Jitral Africa wern also shown, and well received. Th* lecture was in aid of the Home Mission Fund.
