OTAMA
June 26.— The fricuds of Mr J. G. Fullarton in this district tendered him a complimentary social in the hall on Tuesday evening, on the occasion of his leaving to take up a position in the Boys' High School, Dunedin. The weather was anything but pleasaJit, and it was a very dark night also, notwithstanding which the hall was well-filled' with young and old. As it was so cold, dancing was the chief amusement, interspersed by songs and recitations by variouo n embers of the company. As usual in Otama, the ladies were again to tho front in the choice supply of edibles and the comforting cup of tea, of which there was abundance, and Messrs G. GeTken and W. Stewart made efficient M.Cs.
