TEACHERS' COURT OF APPEAL.
BLENHEIM, May 6. Judgment was delivered by the Teachers* Court of Appeal to-day in the- case in which, the head master of the Borough School appealed against the decision of the Marl-bc-rough Education Board dismissing him from his pesition. Dr Arthur, S.M., who was nominated as a member of the court on behalf of the appellant, decided on all points in favour of appellant except that he thought the teacher should live in a house attached to the school. The friction between the committee and the master was nob the fault of the latter. He decided that; the appellant had been wrongfully dismissed. Mr Raynor, who was nominated to* the court by the respondent board, gave a finding which, on the question of competency and on other points, was in favoiu? of the master, but thought the appeal should! be dismissed on the grounds that the board had a right tc dismiss a head master for the purpose of making fresh appointments in connection with the amalgamation of the Boys' and Girls' Schools. Mr Scott Smith, S.M., chairman of the court, concurred with Dr M'Arthur, and upheld the appe-.il, award* me costs against the respondent board.
