YOUNG claim to do. Further, they claim that no Other Firm in New Zealand in the same line of business is on an equal footing with them for so doing, for the following reasons :—: — 1. G. and T. YOUNG buy for Cash and secure all Discounts, both trade and cash. 2. G. and T. YOUNG buy from the Actual Manufacturers in Britain, America, and on the Continent. 3. G. and T. YOUNG buy in quantities, and thus obtain the best discounts. They have the Largest Watch and Jewellery Business in Dunedin, also large Establishments in Wellington, Timaru, and Oamaru. 4. G and T. YOUNG'S buyer (Mr GEOKGE YOUNG) is an experienced buyer, having bought for the Firm for the last 26 years. He knows where to purchase ihe best and cheapest Goods and the proper price to pay for them. Further, Mr GEORGE VTOUKG, being a Partner in the business, is careful to eend only such goods as will give satisfaction to the Firm's customers here. 5 Mr GEORGE YOUNG resides in England, and is therefore always at hand to pick up the Newest goods as soon as manufactored, and often these are on the way to New Zealand before any similar goods have been shown in the Home shops. 6 G and T YOUNG, by buying for Cash, buying from the actual manufacturers, buying in quantities, by having an experienced and competent Buyer, by having no commissions to pay for buying, are able to land their goods in the colony at the Lowest possible prices, and consequently fulfil the first condition me_tioned-vi z ., buying well. Now, as to being able to sell at the LOWEST PRICES— G and T YOUNG'S business in New Zealand is ectnornically managed. They have no expemive managers to pay. Each manager is an interested party and a worker, consequently it is to their individual interest to keep down expenses. G and T YOUNG'S buyer periodically visitC the colony to keep himself in touch with its requirement*;, and is thus able to* avoid sending unsuitable or bad stock ; hence G. and T. YOUNG have to make no provision for same, and are thus able to mark their goods at the lowest profits ; and to show that the E c profits have been reasonable, they have only to mention that they have kept the confidence of their patrons for a period of 41 years and increased the business to a very large degree. From the above it will be clearly seen that it is to any purchaser's interest to patronise this old-established Firm. By co doing they will get a variety and choice Of goods rot to be seen m any other jeweller's shop in the colony. They will find in G. and T. Exhibition, 1888-80, they again obtained First Prize for Watches and Clocks ; also Four other First-class Awards, viz. :— For Gold and Silver Jewellery. For English, French, and American Clocks.
