CLEARING SALE

Messrs, Wright, Stephenson, and Co. .reporj having held a clearing sale on account of Messrs MTiay Bros, at their farm, near Hyde, on Thursday^ the 7th May, when the -whole of their horses, dairy cattle, farming-implements, household furniture, and a few merino rams were disposed of by auction nt very satisfactory prices. Tho -weather wa-a fine, and, harvest work being practically over in the district, gave farmers an opportunity 'to attend the auction. There wa3 a large gathering of settlers from all parts between Naseby and The Sutton. The sale was absolutely unraserved, and every lot offered was keenly competed for. Draught coUn and fillies, 2Jyrs to 3yrs old (in low condition), sired by Brito.i a:ul MncGrcgor, made from £23 to £32; lighter sorts to £16 10s; hackney foals, £6 10s; two and a-half to three-year-old steers and heifers, £4 103 to £5 12s 6:1; yearling steers a.nd heifers, £2 12s 6d to £3 12s Cd; calves, £1 15s; 10 four-tooth merino rams, 3gs' to 2gs. Implements were good, and sc'.d veil. Household furniture sold at satisfactory prices.
