IMPORTS AND EXPORTS.
WELLINGTON", May 7. The value of the imports to all ports of the colony for the quarter ended March 31 was £3,282,7-18, compared with £3,029,959 during the corresponding quarter of tho previous year. The imports to the four chief ports were: — Wellington, £1,042,436; Auckland, £748,832; Dunedin, £555,701; Lyttelton, £520,050. During the March quarter exports to the value of £5,405,031 left the colony. From Wellington the exnorts were valued at £1,983,711; Lyttelton, £1,100,372; Auckland, £733,144; Dunedin, £458,203. Tho exports of dairy produce and meat for the month of April were as follow, tho figures for the previous April being given in parentheses: — Butter, 7683cwt, valued at £36,741 (20,888 cwt, valued at £98,810) ; cheeso, 8146 cwt, valued at £21,804 (12,713 cwt, valued at £26,965); frozen beef, 10,328 cwt, valued at £12,801 (30,302 cwt, valued at £35,542) ; frozen mutton, 162,603 carcases, weighing 79,242 cwt, valued afc £93,553 (197,050 carcases, weighing 99,985 cwt, valued at £106,366) ; legs and pieces. 6594 cwt, valued at £7424 (10,143 cwt, valued at £1L548) ; . frozen lamb, 234,716 carcases, weighing 74,674 cwt, valued at £118,925 (332,798 carcases, weighing 106,738 cwt, valued at £160,117).
