OLD WRITERS' WEEK.
Dear Dot,— The nands of time are moving round, and it is nearly a year since we had an O.W.W. The last one was some time last June, so, could we not have another, say, the Jast week in Juno this year? There was a discussion some time ago about tho definition of an old writer. I think O.W.W. should include all writers of four years' standing and all writers who have retired, whether over the Age limit or not. I say whether over the age limit or not, as many have retired who tar* not reached 20. Many old writers have not contributed in Hie past when they might have done so; but it is to be hoped that next O.W.W. will see all the oldest and best of your senior correspondents gracing the page with tlieir noins de plume. It is an occasion worthy of thoir best efforts, and as it d-oes not occur very often, they might take advantage of it, if only for the sako of auld lang syne. Hoping ■ you will be able to spare a week for the oo- j casion;- 1 once more sign myself as your sincere D.L.F. comrade, AGUINALDO. March 20, 1903. [Be you know, Aguina'.do, I think - aiuat !>e getting lazy, or I should have faced the Old Writers' Week before this. It means such a dislocation of the ordinary smooth running of our page that I invariably put it off till 'I can do so no longer. That time in view of your statement that the last O.W.W. was held in June last, has certainly come, and I have therefore pleasure in fixing WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, «ls the next Old Writers' Week. I had thought of fixing five years as tho limit for old writers but possibly that is going too far back, and lor this year I am willing to adopt your suggestions. The conditions will therefore be: — 1. Old writers to be contributors of not less than four years' standing. 2. All m-embc-rs of our page who have retired by announcement in the pago to be regarded as old writers irrespective of age, and any over 20 who may have neglected to announce their retirement to be also regarded as O.W. 3. All O.W. letters to reach the office not later than Tneßday, June 16. 4. No ordinary letters to be posted between June 10 and July 7. I hope L.F. will note the last condition, as I Toally must hs firm on. this occasion, and absolutely refuse to accept any ordinary letters sent in during the time mentioned. DOT.
