Ones more, as the influenza season comes round — luckily, the epidemic is far milder this year — I am asked by readers to ieprint tho two famous presr-rintions of Dr I3orne, the French doctor and depute. Here they are : — (I) Chloroform water 2oz Salol •• „. logrs Water .. „ 2oz Betol .. ■«,. logra Magnesia .. .. 2dr Antifebrin .. logrs Syrup of orange flowers loz. This must be well shaken, and a Jablespoonful taken every 15 or 20 minutes during tb first day on which influenza symptoms doclare themselves. (II.) On the following days one should take two cachets on rising in the morning-, and! two on going to bed at night, composed ast follows : — Magnesia *. 2£drs Salol *« »* 45gra Betol .„■ ,*» 75grs Terpine .« .. 45gra For 20 cachets. According to Dr Borne, the heory of his treatment is the thorough disinfection of the respiratory tubes and tho digestive organs. — A caterpillar in the course of a month' will devour 600 timer, its own weight ia food.
