FIRST GRADE.

NOHTHEUX V. MOHNIXGTOX. The above match was played on the Mornington Ground, which was in very good condition— in fact, it was rather hard. A good fast game was anticipated, anel the crowd of spectators were not disappointed. Siedeberg winning the toss, played with the sun at his back. The Northern immediately took the ball into the Mornington's territory, where play went on for gome time, until Hillford relieved. Mornington rushed the ball into the Northern's twenty-five, but fine play by Harrison and Kilgour relieved the pressure. Good play by the Northern forwards saw the ball once more in Mornington'a twenty-five, and, Sparrow missing, Siedeberg scored with a fast shot. From the kick-off Mornington pressed, and Lochhead missed an easy chance. Haynes clearing well. The ball travelled up and down for some time, until the Northern forwards got well into goal ; but Chadwick shot wide from the goal kick, which was very feeble. Chadwick immediately shot very hard, and scored Northern's second goal. From the ■kick-off play centred about the Northern's proal, where Hillford passed to Clarke, who headed well, and the ball keeping low wenfe through. Northern 2, Mornington 1. The above match waa played on the Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon, in the presence of a goodly number of onlookers. Foi some time after the kick-off the play was of a give and take leseription, the ball travelling from one end of tho field to the other. Good play by iPerguson gave Matchett a chance, the latter player sending the ball over the bar. Wakari were now being hard pressed, Unit Morrison relieved with a long kick, the play centring. The M'Millan brothers were playing a splendid game, whilet the kicking of Morrison was capital. Paterson h-eadid well down the fieid, and Middle- as following up well took the play to Wakari's end. Wakari now got xi a good rush, whioh was nicely stopped by W. ■Brown. W. Ramsay, with a long kick, centred the play in the vicinity of Wakari's goal, where Oliver essayed a shot, which .•went wide, half time being called ehortly afterwards. In the aecond spell Wakari 'ightly altered their mode of play, playing a more open game. But Kaitangata were not c be denied, and succeeded in adding two more goals to their credit, Matchett and DSliddlemas scoring. From * scramble in front of the goal, Wakari scored then only Igoal. THIRD GRADE. Northern met and defeated Sawyei'9 1 Bay by 7 goals to 1 goal. For the winners Timlin (4), Simpson, Umbers, and Brockell scored. Manson scored for the losers. Roslyn A beat the Rangers at Montecillo by 3 goals to 2 goals. Hudson, Arlidge, and Angell scored for the winners, and Shrimpton and Lambert for the losers. SCHOOLS' COMPETITION. High Street School v. George Street B. — Won by High Street by 1 goal to nil. Forbury v. Union Street. — Won by Forbury by 1 goal to nil. Kensington v. Caversham. — Won by Kensington by 4- goals to 1 goal. Green Island v. Kaikorai A. — Won by Green Island by 4- goals to 2 goals. Mornington v. Kaikorai B. — Won by Mornington by 6 goals to nil. College v. George Street A.— A drawboth sides scoring 2 goals. OTAGO FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. At a special general meeting of the Otago Football Association, hold atthe Coffee Palace on Monday evening, there were present the following members if committee : —Messrs Wilson and Duncan (vice-presidents), Morrison, Shrimpton, M'Millan, Martin, Irvine, Clark, and Braithwaite, and delegates from Roslyn Football Club (Messrs W. Young and F. Ussher), Green Island (W. G. Smith), Mornington (R. E. Davidson), and Sawyers' Bay (W. P. Miller). Hr Wilson was voted to the chair. It was decided that graded lists of players must be sent to the lion, secretary of the O.F.A. prior to tho opening match. Notice of any change must be sent to the secretary on or before the Wednesday previous to the Saturday for which the transfer is required, but aft«v Any player has played three times in any grade permiosion must be obtained from the O.F.A. Committee for him to play in a lower grade. Notice of motiou was given that a:i alteration be made in the Junior Premiership rules making provision for two rounds of matches to be played, and also that an accident insurance scheme be drawn up and submitted on Monday, 18th inst. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the business. A meeting of the committee was held subsequently, there being present Messrs Wilson (in the chair), Duncan, Shrimptor, J. M'Millan, Martin, Morrison, Clark, and Braithwaite (hon. secretary). It was decided that all matches with Kaitangata team 3be played at 2 p.m., and that Wakari Second be asked to meet the Kaitangata Second on the Asylum Ground on Saturday next at 2 p.m.. and that the Third Grade match Roslyn Third v. Mornington Third comment at 3.30 p.m. A letter from the Wellington Football Association was deferred until next meeting. A letter from a referee (Mr A- Menzies). stating that he had ordered a player of the Mornington team of! the field for misconduct, was received, and it waa decided to summon the referse and reported player to attend at the meeting of the O.F.A.
