PERSONAL NOTES.
It is understood Mr Bratby, gaoler at Invercargill, will .-uceocd Mr Phillips in charge of the Dunedin Gaol, and that Mr Armstrong, the principal warder at Dunedin, will be promoted to the charge of the Invercargill Gaol. Tho Gazette of March 5 contains the announcement of the appointment, of Edwin John Haydon to be a lieutenant in the B Battery, and Honorary Lieutenant John Matthewson to be lieutenant of the Dunedin Cadet Engineers; both commissions to date from June 4, 1902. Constables James Dale and David Stewart, of Alexandra and Cromwell respectively, have been appointed inspectors of weights and measures in their districts.
