LOCAL INDUSTRY GOLD MINING COMPANY.
The annual meeting of shareholders in the i Xocal Industry Gold Mining Company was held in the company's office, Lawrence, on Thurs- j day afternoon. Mr Wiliam Hoerg (chairman of j directors) presided, and moved the reception j of the annual report and balance sheet, which i ihad been previously circulated amongst th 6 shareholders, and was taken as read. The report showed the gold won for about Bine months was 3920z, valued at £1509 3s, and | the sum of £487 10s, equal to 6s 6d per share, j ■'tad been paid in dividends during the last six j .months of the year." The' sum of_'£«9 la lOd- ] has- also-been written- off the plant an3 -property I account, leaving it now standing at £750. j The' retiring directors, Mesers J. O. Arbuckle j *nd Eonald Montgomery, were re-elected, as i also the auditor, Mr H. H. Leary. - j ■ The' Chairman explained to the meeting that lince the accounts~had been made up a further dividend -of -13 per -share had been paid,' and 1 that another Is dividend would be declared at lhe directors' meeting to be held that -afternoon.
The meeting closed -with a vote of thanks and confidence in the directors, whose remuneration was fixed at 25 guineas for the ensuing year. The next annual meeting was fixed- for the first Thursday in March, at 3 o'clock p.m.
