WELLINGTON WING WHISPERS

February 6. Dear Pasquin, — This has been another busy week, but one of revivals so far as programmes were concerned. Excellent business has Tesultcd at all places of amusement. The Thornton Comedy Company at the Opera Hcuse has given us a repetition of "Charley's Aunt." To-morrow we are to have "Sweet Lavender." The Williamson Musical Comedy Company is still holding the boards at the Theatre Royal, "The Rnuaway Girl," "San Toy," and "The Belle of New York" being this week's programme. The season finishes to-morrow. Dixs Gaieiy Company reopens" at the Royal next week with Henry Gee as business mana--ger. The sensational item of the new programme is the reproduction of the pantomime "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves," by electrovitagraph. The cast includes Ernest Hill, Arnoldi, Mr Brown Parker, and Rose De Vella. .This has been the fourteenth consecutive week of Dean's Waxworks and Vaudeville Company at the Choral Hall. I hear that George D. has had notice to quit next week, as the hall • is to be occupied by John Fuller's Company. It is likely that the Dean combine will go into the country — if it does not decide to stay in town. A big attraction during the weak has been the Wellington Garrison's Bazaai and Carnival at the Central Drillshed. Big business has been done, showing that there is still a lot of money m town.
