The weskly nieeting of the Otago Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs D. Barro:i (chief commissioner), Clark, Duncan, Dallas, and Kirkpatrick.

An application was received to transfer leases in perpetuity Nos. 408 and 834, allotments 62 and 69, MaereA'hen-ia Estate, from William Read to Eliza Jane Sweeney. — Approved.

An application to transfe- perpetual leases Nos. 33 and 70, sections 3 and 4, block XIII, Tarras district, from the executor in the estate of the late John Hendersoi (deceased) to Kenneth Munro was received. — Forfeiture of section 4 rescinded as the lent was row paid up ; transfer of sections approved.

Thomas M. Kennedy applied to surrender lease in v.h.s.s. No. 76, section 26, block 11, Glenomaru district. — Referred *o Tanger for report.

James Kennedy's application for en occupation lease over section 105, block IX, Maruwenua district, was declined.

Ranger M'Dougall forwarded a report on James Templeton's application for a sawmill area at Makarora. — Rang sr M'Dougall to be advised that on receiving a d«posit of £5 for valuation fees he ma 7 give permission to Temp'eton to remove the timber now cut, and, further, on payment of one-half of ro5 r alty. over the whole area as assessed by the ranger the application will be granted for 100 acres and a reserved area of 100 Acres.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, on behalf of John Herriott. applied ' for a grazing right over sections 48 and 49, block XI, Pomahaka Downs Estate. — Declined.

Mary Annie Duncan applied for exemption from residence on small grazing run 274 over Run 225 L. —Exemption granted during the pleasure of the board. John B. Steele applied for permission to cut down six bluegum trees on section 30a, Windsor Park Settlement.— Granted.

Ranger O'Neill reported that Mary Columb, lessee of allotment 19a, Janefie'd Settlement, was not complying with the residence condition of her lease.— To show cause why her lease should not be declared forfeited for nonce in pliance with residence conditions. The District Engineer, Public- Works Department, forwarded a communication in connection with Cooper and Lumsden's application for extension of time in which to pay royality on timber, section 30, block VIII, Catlin's district. — Extension was granted to the end of June next. George Gwynne wrote stating that he would bo prepared to take j£2s for improvements on section 83, block IV, Glenomirn district, lately lield by him under lease in perpetuity 55 ex. — Received. Messrs Dalgety and Co. wrote stating that they did not intend to further occupy the Ha-wea Hundred after the expiry of the present license. — Received. William Currie applied for a grazing license over sections 38, 39, and 40, block VII, Rock and Pillar district.— Referred to ranger for report. The board was requested to deal with the sum of £50 Os 6d, valuation for improvements on section 10, block XII, Glenkenich district, •< lately held by James Cusack under small grazing run lease. — Receiver to pay as follows: — To revenue for rent, £33 16s sd; cost of reentry, 30s; James Cussack, £11 14s Id. James Davidson applied for a lease in perpetuity over section 53, block' X, Glenkenich district, now held by him under grazing , license. — Held over. Tho case of Walter Hollands, who had been given 14 days to show cause why his right to a lease over section 24, block IX, Woodland district, should not be declared lapsed for nonpayment of rent and lease fee and non-com-pliance with residence conditions was again considered, and the right to the leasp was declared lapsed. The Taieri County Engineer wrote stating that Mr M. Graham's fence on part of section 26, block IV, Mount Hyde district, had been removed and re-erected on the new line of road. — Received. The Receiver of Land Revenue reported that the following holders of yearly licenses had failed to renew their licenses by payment of rent:— Peter Allan, Peter M'Laren, John M'Donald, William Mitchell, William Cumrning, A. Campbell, S. Anderson. Joseph Gunn, H. Burley, and others. — The licenses were declared lapsed. Mr J. J. Ramsay, on behalf of W. C. Dunlop applied to transfer his lease in perpetuity over fccctiona 16 and 26, Janefield Settlement, to James Thomas Johnson. — Approred, subject to consent of tho Minister. The Ranger submitted a list of selectors who liad not complied with the residence or improvement conditions of their leases.
