The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago A. Andrew, James, Gow, T, Muir, and J- Patrick. . „. .... , , The Secretary of the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society wrote forwarding the follow--ing resolution by the society: — "That tRe resolution passed at the International Conference of Sheepbreeders, held at Carlisle on the sth July, 1902— i.e. : 'That this conference is of opinion that the increasing adulteration of woollen goods and the unscrupulous substitution of inferior materials in the manufacture of woollen poods demand in the interests of -both the consumer and the producer immediate legislative- attention ' — be approved of by the committee of the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society, and a copy of their resolution be sent to the National Sheopbreeders* Association of England, also to the agricultural and pastoral societies and farmers' associations throughout the colony." — It was unanimously, resolved to co-operate with the Hawke's Bay A. and, P. Society, and to write to .the National She,epbreeders' Association promising support in this important matter. The Hon. Treasurer (Mr John Angus) submitted a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the recent show at Tahuna Park, -which was considered most satisfactory, the Chairman, congratulating the meeting on the success, of 'the show. - A considerable- amount/of- detail cbrfe-. spo'ndence in connection: vrith-tKe. late 'show was carefully gone into) arid ;defalt f with. } Accounts' amounting ''to r£2l6 t lls --ld\w.ere passed fof payment. ' ■' ' At , the close qf the meeting, Mr Fergus (chairman of the Agricultural Hall Company) extended to air" the members of. the committee a cordial invitation to be present at the performanc of "San Toy" at His Majsty's Theatre last evening. — On the motion of of Mr J. C. Gow, a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to" Mr Fergus by acclamation for the kind invitation, most of the members present expressing their intention of being present at the performance.
