6THE BOOKING STONE, OAIBNMUIB HILL, OTAGO. These two photos were recently taken by Mr George A. Cuthbertson, engineer to the Vincent County Council, on the Cairnmuir Hill, near Clyde. They are very interesting illustrations, on account of the curious formation of the rocks, one of them bearing a striking resemblance to tiie celebrated Sphinx. The Molyneux can be seen in the distance. The hills about Clyde abound in curious shaped rocks, composed of mioaschist, of which these are just two picked at random. ■ Otago Witness, Issue 2529, 3 September 1902, Page 37
