Two hundred aad niaety-cne New Zealand wethers were sold at prices ranging from. 3os to 445. Twenty Xew Zealand bullocks averaged £21 1-i-,. One brought £29 10=, a record for the yard. One cow of the same coiibisnment fetched £19. August 14. At the fat stock 19,500 .sheep were offered. The supply was well within requirements, causing restricted competition, 289 wethers ranging from 24s to 34s 6d, one lot of 17 reaching 14s, and 134 ewes ranging from 22s 9d to 313s 9d were sold on account of New Zealand shippers. August 18. At the fat '•lock <.al<?s 13,000 sheep were offered to-day, including about 6^oo fioni Xew Zealand. The demand was not equal to the supply, and prices, especially imported, declined considerably. New Zealand wethers ranged from 17s 3d to 28s. Seven hundred and six cattle were offered, including 200 from New Zealand, which ranged — Bullock». £1-3 14s 6d to £19 15s; cows to £16 7-5 (3d. Values were, generally lower.

WELLINGTON*, August 18. The steamer Norfolk left Brisbane on Friday, and proceeds to Picton, where she takes in. 2000 carcases of mutton, 750 quarters of beef, and a quantity of potatoes. The steamer afterwards proceeds to Lyttolton, where more frozen meat, etc., will be shipped, after which the veeeel goes to the Bluff to complete her cargo for South Africa. A difficulty is said to bo experienced in receiving cargo.
