NAPIER DEFEATS WANGANUI. NAPIER, August 16.
The interprovincial football match Hawke s Bay v. Wanganui was played on the Recreation Ground to-day in the presence of a large^crowd of spectators. The weather •was very showery and the ground in a muddy condition. The game, which was fairly even, resulted in a win for Hawke's Bay by 6 points to 3. M'Vay kicked a goal from a penalty, and Heath scored a try for H-awke's Bay. Thnrston got over for Wanganui. The second spell was in favour of the local team. «
