SALE OF A CLYDESDALE ENTIRE COLT.
Messrs Wright, Sts>pnenso-i, and Co. report having sold private-'y, on aroint of Mr Alex. Baimatyne, Matanaka, Waikouaiti, his black Clwlefdale er.ti-e colt, by M'Callum, to Mr AJexander Rrbertsou, of Waipahi, at a very ffetisfacfory figiicc. Tho colt Lb rasing 3yrs. Sire M'Caliu'ii, dam by Ben Lomond. M'Callum w-is bred by the Late John Russell, out of his fp.nious mare Princess M'Cormick. Prmce3s M"Corraick was out of Maggie M'Cormi''k by Young Prince of Wales. M'Callum's sire, Lcrd Lyon (ISO C.5.8.). by Lord Salisbury (imo., 1007 C.S 1U Lord Lyorr's dam Myrtle; g,-d-ain Mo'ly M'KiPeoak (Lmo.), by Lord Lyon fH.S.B.) ; g-g-dam, Tibby. by Glen Lee. Molly MiCissock was imported from Scotland by the lats D. M'Callum, having secured first honours at Ayr und Dumfries ao a two-year-old, but was never afterwards shown. Lord Lyon gained first and champion at Gore and Tapanui in 1891, first r.nd champion at Dunedin in 1592, first and champion at Tapanui, Gore, and luvercargill in 189S, and first; and champion at Oama.ru in 1895. M'Callum gained tho following prizes: — A3 a three-year-old, first nfc Mataura, first at Wyndham, and first at Invercargill in 189 1, and first at the Western A. and P. Association's show in 1895. and waa never afterwards shown. Ben Lomond's sire, Yenng Vanquisher (imported from Scotland by the late David Neabit), was bred by the late Pater Andersf-n, Stranraer, Scotland, out of his famous mare Sa-lly, by Lochfergus Champion; g-3ire Blair's Champion. Ben Lomond's dam, Maggie Lauder (imp.), was by Lord Lyon (imp.), g-sire Ben Lomond (imp.). It will therefore be scon that tho colt will be a decided acquisition to the Waipahi and s\u> rounding districts.
