Notes from Roxburgh.

ROXBURGH, June 25. The warm weather and rain ycsteiday have caused the river to rise 2ft or Bft.
Mr Ewen Butler has been appointed manager H:d Mr R. Smith engineer of the Roxburgh Jubilee dredge. T t is rumoured that the Ettnck dredge has jo. on to very good wash.
A number of the local dredges were to havp clo3ed down to-morrow for the Coronation, but X presume will not do so now. There is deep sorrow expressed here at the illncs of his Majesty, and all festivities have been declared off.
