THE EMPIRE'S IMPERIALIST.
Builder of Empire, statesman, and dreamer Of dreams m the dawn thai the noon hath brought true ; Strong to hold fast to the hope of thy watchword, Firm m thy faith, that was fostered by few. Eye that say/ sure through the weft of the yearweb, Mind that dared plan the dim future doubtstrown ; Hand that wiought well for the all-crimson girdle, Linking with ficedom and law zone to zone. League after league, from the Cape to Zambezi, British-won, Biitish-heid, — thus ran thy dream ; Forfend we be m our pride now forgetful Whose is the merit these things are, not seem. Pilot ol Britain's Imperial progress, Where the blood's dye sets on broad veldt our seal' May there be those that can strengthen and guide us, Now that thy hand drops unnerved from the wheel. Them who hast lavished a live hie to further The cause that we English deemed right, just, and be3t,— Take to ilatoppo the thought that we thank the?, That the woik stays though the hand hath its rest.
