Full oft in nightly dreams I see The red light shining from afar; And white-topped rollers racing past, To break upon the treacherous bar. The roar of surf on locky .«hoie Is booming loudly m my ear , And high, the breakers thiown aloft, Call back the memories to dear. And yet again I seem to list, The sighing of the rimu trees — The rmging of the ka-ka note, Boine blithely on the morning bieeze. Mist-eappcd is Hinc-Uu Hill , Bright llii casts lays on slopes of gieen; The white cots nctling down, below, Oruka Maori pa is seen. The cachalot's massive form appears, As sudden trorn the main he leaps, Then sounds to awful depths unknown, Fai plunging in the mighty deeps. Soulhwaid, enwrapped in bluish haze, So richly found m Maou lore, See Kakiura, mountain grand, Keep guaid upon the sea-girt shore! The L,ji,d of Heavenly Glows" 'ti= called, Wheie Natuie pj.ntfe v.Jth lavish hand— Siirj) cliff, l>!uo hike, and hold deep — • 'i lie lm-tn. --cener, of that land. I«ook yord'r to (Lp ne<-i and see The Solandeis, bo wild and lour- — The famous ground of whalers bold — 'lhis, this, is the le\ lathaii's home!
