The fortnightly meeting, held on Thursday, January 23, was attended by Messrs A. Kinross (in the chair), D. King, J . M'lntyre, and A. Baldey.

Messrs Perrin and Murray were granted! seven years' lease over five acres of parts of sections 1 and 2, blcck XXIII, Invercargilr Hundred (gravel reserve) at £2 10s per annum, and John Holland over five acres of section 1, block XXIII, Invercargill Hundred, for the same period and amount. The ranger was instructed to report on and! value section 744 and section. 747, Hokonui, applied for by G. H. Windus. John Shankland offered 5s- per acre fox section 6, block 111, Waikawa. — Ranger to report. Thos. Simon wrote abandoning all bush and tramway rights held by him. — Accepted. Messrs M'lntyre and Baldey reported inspection of section 18, block VIII, Waiau, helct by Hector Thomson, and recommended rebate ox one year's rent. — Minister to be recommended accordingly.

In regard to Mrs L. A. Young's application) for section 117, block 11, Longwood, J. P. Young asked if the price of land was to ba paid, in addition to the survey fee of £4. — To be informed that the land must be paid for 1 , the survey fee having been paid to a private" surveyor. Thr same applicant was similarly, informed in regard to the Orepuki Saleyards Company's application for section- 116, block 11, Longwood. Messrs Henderson and Batger, on behalf of G. Pincknay and others, requested that the grazing license granted to E. J. Vernon over land in the Waikawa and Gap districts be cancelled, as the land is included in the pastoral; license over runs 328 and 426a.— License to B. J. Vernon cancelled .and rent paid to be refunded.

Jnmes Anderson offered • £49 for lease fo» seven years of Winton Limestone Reserve. — > Held ever till next meeting. .F. Cunningham's offer of £3 for one month's grazing on the Winton Limekiln Kessrve wts^ accepted. Robert Parsons was granted a grazing license over sections 13, 14, and 15, block IV, Campbclltown Hundred, at £3 per annum. The following applications for land -were granted : — John M'Gregor, sections 53.v and' 54, block X, Invercargill Hundred; and Jamea M'Nab Falconer, .section 14a, block 12, Chatton district.

John Glynn, who paid the deposit of £29 14s for section 15, block VIII, Waiau, and was granted tho same, waited on the board and refused to pay the valuation for improvements amounting to £36 3s. — Application cancelled! and receiver authorised to refund deposit ; section to be re-advertised. Sufficient improvements having been effected, T. L. Barnhill's application for a title over 'sections 285 and 286, Taringatura, was approved. Henrietta Prior's application for a title for sections 85, 86, and 87, block I, Paterson, and! Henry Ranee's for section 26, block XIX, New River Hundred, were approved, subject to ranger's report. Subject to the ranger's report, the tiansfcr of section 14, block XIX, New River Hundred, from' Thomas Dyke to Daniel M'Callum waa approved. _, , The license of Thomas A. Hayes for sections 16 and 17, block XVII, Waikawa, ancl that of Garvey Bros, for section 75, block X, Wendon, were forfeited. Forfeiture of sections 5 to 7, block XVII, Longwood, held by Henry Ward, was rescinded. The receiver was authorised to pay oven thirds and fourths to the WeJlace County; Council, amounting to JEI63 3s fid, accrued from August 1 to October 81, 1901, and to the Lake County Council, J835 18s lid, accrued from, February 1, 1900, to April 30, 1900, and November 1, 1900, io July 31, 1901.
