In connection with the Canterbury Jubilee, the Old Colonists' Committee are making strenuous efforts to obtain a complete record of all those who were in the province prior and up to the 15th of March, 1853, the date of the arrival of the last ship chartered by the Canterbury Association. In the case of death, it is desired that the date and place of death, should be recorded, and those now livingtheir full names and present address. Lists of the particulars gathered by the committea up to the present date have been prepared, and are in course of being printed. These will be forwarded to every old colonist whose name^and address has been obtained by the committee, together with a circular letter setting forth the objects of the committee and asking that missing information; should be supplied and the lists returned. Messrs R. J. S. Harman and S. C. Farr and! Archdeacon Chobnondeley have been through, tho lists, and have added considerably to their completeness, but the names of pas.sengei.'3 by many of the ships arc yet wanting. Any old colonists coming within the date should! send their names in at once, as the omission, will probably result in some being left out of the special Jubilee festivities, and the committee is specially anxious that no Canterbury pilgrim should be omitted. The list, wheii completed, will be kept as a record or those who were alive and took part in the Jubilea celebrations, forming a very -interesting memento. Names can be sent to the vicechairman of the Old Colonists' Committee, Mr John Anderson, or to the Jubilee secretary, llr E. J. Righton, Palace Buildings, Christchurch.
