THE CABLES QUESTION.
MELBOURNE, September 26. The Postsnaster-general, who is inclined to^ reopen negotiations for ' a Cape cable, visits Sydney to confer with' Mr Crick BRISBANE- September 26! The cable with reference to the acceptance, of a tender for the -Pacific cable turns out to be a blunder. The message received by the Government was for a dioptric light, not a cable.
