THE GALVESTON TIDAL WAVE.
NEW YORK, September 19.
The recent hurricane destroyed the seaside resort of High Island, Texas. Pour hundred bodies »were found amongst the ruins, mostly those of visitors. September 21. The Governor of Texas reports that the
fatalities by the hurricane and tidal wave at Galveston and elseAvhere were at least 12,000.
