At Queenstown on the 4th inst., before Mr M'Carfehy, S.M., an old-age pensioner named R. Oswin had his pension taken away from him, and was fined 5s and 7s costs for drunkenness. A defendant at Blenheim was fined last week for selling poison (strychnine) without a sufficient label, and also for selling it without entering the sale in a book. On the first charge a fine of 40s and 7s costs was imposed, and on the second 40s and 38s costs.
