Criticism
Problem 1682. — A correspondent signing himself "Bobs" writes as follows: — Sir, — I play draughts a bit now and again, and sometimes have a look at your column in the Witness and the Times. In last week you have a problem between Mr Boreham and a, Mr Mulvey. The position is: Black on 2, A, 11, 16, 22; White on 9, 21, 23, 24, 29, with Black to play. What resiilt? I don't want the book, even if I had the luck to win it. Is this play any good for a new churn? : —
Then 15 10, Black wins.— Bobs, (v)
—Bobs. [With such play a3 the above from a new chum, what will "Bobs" be when he is a matured xslayer? We would cominc«id this novice's effort to the attention of ilr Mulvey. — Dr Ed.]
