Eos and Ybraw were the first to get going, whilst Belemnite and Ranfurly were the last to leave the barrier. After traversing a furlong , the order was Eos slightly m advance of Lyddite and Ybraw, with Stagelight, Bloodstone, and Aqua, Ranfurly still in the rear. Lyddite held command as the turn for home was made, Stagelight bsing next, with Fos, Sunny Morn, and Fleet Admiral in close pursuit. When , fairly in the straight Ranfurly was seen lo be | fast gaining ground, and at the pickets lie was on terms with Lyddite, and gradually diawing i away ho caught the judge's eye iwo lengths to ! the good, whilst Lyddite defeated Stagelight a similar distance for second place. Fleet Admiral was a good fourth, D.timps, Harpist, and Blue Cap II next, and the last lot was composed of Fiielock, Eos, Ybraw, Antarctic, Bloodstone, and Troehon.
