NOTES BY TERROR.

• — Mr Ward's St. Bernard Merna is in pup to Higlifield Lord Hawke — litter due about the end of this month. Before the next issue of the Witness I purpose visiting this fancier's yards, and will no doubt have an interesting note to make.

— " Sirius " writes: Mr R. Wark has entered last year's much-discussed collie Armsbearer for the Sydney Kennel Club's show, at the end of June, but, like several other fanciers, is apprehensive of the return of his dog being delayed by quarantine or interrupted steamer communication. Armsbearer is in splendid form, and though the appointed judge in Sydney has expressed himself in extremely laudatory terms regarding some imported collies in Sydney, Mr' Wark is confident that they have not got the beating of his crack. At any rate, they will be able to see that he is not pig-jawed, de&pite the allegations of last year's judge.

■ — A number of British dogs gained their titles to the prefix of champion at Cruft's show, amongst them being Messrs Inman and "Walmsley's St. Bernards The King's Son, Wolfram, and Freia; Mr C. H. Wood's Scottish terriers Balmacron Thistle and Baberton Lass; Mr G. Bullough's Gordon setter Redruth Colonel ; Mr R. H. Crabtree's Newfoundland Beechgroye Princess; Mr Stuart Noble's Airdale terrier Master Briar; Mrs Talbot Bruce's beagle Coquette; and Mr H. H. Jones's rough-coated collie Moreton Hebe.
