ANNUAL RAM AND EWE FAIR.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows tinder Thursday's date: —

This annual fixture took place at the Burnside saleyards to-day. The entries were not numerous, but they were fairly representative of the different breeds of longwools, including- as they did Border Leicester, Romney Marsh, Lincoln, and Shrop.-hire Down sheep, and a few halfbreds. The attendance of buyers was moderate, and the competition was as dull as could be, excepting in case of stud Border Leicester rams and one or two of the best lots of flock rams of the same breed. We disposed of the whole of our consignments as follows : —

BORDER LEICESTEES Stud Rams.

On account of Mr James S. Holmes (Awamoa) : 1 two-tooth ram at 12gs — N.Z. and A. Land Company; 1 do at 12gs — H.Z. and A. Land Company; 1 do at 9gs — Mr J. H. Allan (Holmes) ; Ido at 7|gs— N.Z. and A. Land Company.

On account of Messrs Little Eros. (Ngapara) : 1 two-tooth, ram at 12^gs — Mr Thomas Muir, Waihemo Mains; 1 do at lOgs — Mr Thomad Muir, Waihemo Mains.

On account of Mr William Grey (Milburn) : 1_ six-tooih ram at a good -price to Mr John Hamiltons, Becks.

Flock Rams,

On account of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company (Clydevalc estate) : 45 first class two-tooth rams at Sgs each. On account of Mr William Grey (Milburn): 10 first class two-tooth rams at 2Jgs to 3gs

ROMNEY MARSH, Flock Rams.

On account of Mr John Reid (Elderslie) : 12 two-tooth rams at IJgs, 13 four and six-tooth raxns at logs.
