WOODSIDE.

February 26. — During the past fortnight the weather has continued dry ana warm, and is in every respect suitable for harvesting. Farming. — The crops are looking exceedingly well in thiff neighbourhood, but in one or two places down the plain they have suffered severely from the frosts that we experienced some time a^o. Harvesting has commenced in the district, but will not be general for about a week yet.

Social Meeting. — A social tea meeting in connection with, the Wesle3'an mission was held last , Monday evening in the Mission. Hall, .Woodside. There was a moderate attendance. The meeting waa opened with prayer by tfie chairman, Mi Brooke, from Dunedin, and after a vocal solo from Miss Marshall and a short addresg from the chairman, an excellent tea was served rouncteto those present, to whioh ample justie was done. Addresses were afterwards delivered by Mr D. Shaddock and the Rev. Mr Sinclair (both from Dunedin), and Mr Tuck, who leaves the mission at present for the pvirpose of entering the Wesleyan College. A vocal duet was well rendered by Mrs and Miss M'Diarmid, and vocal solos by Mrs F. M'Diarmid, Mrs A. S. Burns, Miss E. M'Diarmid, and Miss Cuthbert, while recitations were also rendered by Miss Heckler and the chairman. After the usual votes of thanks the meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the doxology and the pronouncing of the benediction.
