At the Supreme Court Mr Justice Denniston heard argument on. law points in connection with the case of Anderson against the Tuapeka County Council, a claim for the balance alleged to be due on the building of the Miller's Flat bridge. The chief question of law was whether, byreason of extra works being ordered before the expiration of the contract time, for which no extension of time was fixed, defendants weie debarred from penalising the contractors for delay on the original contract.
